Australia

Why Travel Down Under?

Australia attracts so many people, from the outback full of stars (you can see the Milky way), to Karijni, the most beautiful national park filled with waterfalls, to Byron Bay, a surf town with great music and loads of beautiful healthy food, to Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier reef. Which ever coast you decide to travel or what city to start with, Australia is super divers. Even though many visitors think we always have summer here, it is a big island and it all depends on what state you are in. For example, in New South Wales you can visit Australia’s highest mountain area (Mount Kosciuszko) where you can walk, snowboard or put on your skies.

Some of the Highlights

To inspire you (or so I hope) and to make your travels easier, I will name some of the highlights in Australia. And there are a lot. I cannot describe them all because it will take way too much time reading and even more time trying to choose from it all. If you feel your options are not listed or you have something specific in mind, feel free to contact me please. A personal touch is always better.

A Dutchie Downunder

I wanted to check out Australia since I was 12 years old. I spent much of my childhood on board of a barge (an 80 meter ship mainly used on rivers and canals) and visited countries Germany, France and Belgium. This must have triggered my love for travel.

In 2008 I visited Australia for the first time and I loved this beautiful country from the moment I touched down. In 2010 I came back with the idea to be here for 6 months after which I would return to my “normal life” in the Netherlands. That never happened and now I can call Australia my home. I have lived in a few different places, from a country pub inland from Perth to a cattle station in the outback to the tropical surroundings of Cairns. But also Sydney, Darwin and Byron.
